I wanted my horse to come to my wedding, may i say at this point I had my doubts about getting married. My friend was going to bring Flo(my horse)to the wedding I was getting ready when my mother recieved a phone call and she just said do what is neede and hung up. My horse never arrived at the church I found out after the ceremony that the vet had to called as Flo had ripped open both her back legs when double barreling the trailer door(something she had never done) When asking my mother why had she not told me, her response was Would you have gone through with the wedding if I had? My answer being NO that is why she never told me as she knew I would have gone to Flo. Not a year later I was filing for divorce to this day I am sure Flo was trying to stop the wedding, she knew he was the wrong one. Thankfully she recovered and met a new partner of mine and gave her full approval.

hi
I'm new here, I just had to join when i saw this topic!! my friend got married a few years ago and she had her two horses at the wedding for photos, i've always said that if i got married i'd do it in jod's on horseback or at the very least have my horse walk up the aisle with me instead of my poor dad lol. i always wanted to get married in a nice big open field where my baby could be at my side to approve of the ceremony. I have had my horse almost 11 years now and even before i had him i wanted to have a horse at my wedding. i remember as a teenager hanging around the stables after lessons just praying that someone would let me brush a horse or push a wheelbarrow of pooh just to spend a few minutes with a horse or pony. i never had dolls or barbies i had ponies and from as young as 4/5 was making them do dressage shows and jumps. my home is covered in photos of me with my boy now, jumping, walking, riding, in the woods, on the road, i rode throughout both my pregnancies and was back on horseback within three weeks of birth, the first was a c-section but you couldn't keep me off the horses. by the time my oldest son was a year old he had ridden every horse on our yard and would happily trot around on anything, when he had tantrums through the terrible twos all we did was pop him up on a horse and it was all forgotten. there is no way that i could have as big an event as a wedding and not have my horse there, i own a piebald and almost everything i own is black and white to match him. it doesn't matter what his hairs get on they go. what amazes me isn't the women that have their horses at their weddings but rather those that don't

I recently had an accident that has put our wedding plans on hold however my ott tb will be giving me away to the man of my dreams as he was a gift from my father who sadly past away 4 years ago, I actually had to get permission from the local council to allow him to be on a reserve...Its perfect since he actually was the one that proposed to me sort of...he had a huge ring sewn into his halter. Will let you all know how it goes, when we make our new date.

We just attended a wedding in August, the bride has 6 horses and each bridesmaid brought one of them down the aisle,(outdoors of course)then they stood off to the side during the ceremony. They behaved so well, they seemed to be paying close attention to what was happening and none of them even pooped, it was amazing.

I have been planning my wedding ever since I was a little girl and have always wanted to have horses involved. They mean the world to me and personally not to have horses involved would be like not having a family member involved. I want to make sure that my horse is involved in such an important day of my life.
Aside from the personal, I also think they add a certain picturesque quality to your special day.
Those are just my thoughts :)

Okay so my boyfriend isn't as horse crazy as I am... but yes horses must be included in our wedding. There's this gorgeous Morgan Ranch 45 minutes from my house, Stove Prairie Ranch, and it's perfect for weddings. Absolutely gorgeous! They don't have to be the center theme, but just one or two would be ideal ^.^ And yes, they must be white :)
