cross country is amazing, i love it, LoveLife08 is right, about the water it is really funny, and even 3 jumps is good, i bet you enjoyed it :) x

wow xc it is great though i only jumped 3 jumps and had to be lead round. even better i got 2nd at show jumping my first time doing it properly for ages

any advice pony club camp is coming up and i think i am doing some xc i have never really done xc i have only done a very small jump in the field

I love XC and so does Zoe! Its her 2 favrote things - galloping and jumping!

well the summer hols are on the way and im applying for the holiday again so maybe we will do some more xc jumping again

lol i dont have my own pony/horse and the ponies and horses i ride they are used for lessons only and some of them either are about to retier or arnt good out!!! like ripple for instnts she rears up upup so far when hacking and got to the point where she got dangerous going to shows for show jumping that we had to stop taking her out to shows but hopefully i will do some now that im going to start the pony club

OMG you have to do some xc one time when you are riding. It has this amazing feel about it . . . i love jumping into water and it realy FUNNY well my pony is funny when he jumps into water lol

well i dont know what it is like becase i have never done any well not proply anyway i have only done the od one or two on a riding holiday

Well. Cross country carriage driving. Now that's gutsy stuff. I remember watching a competition at Alnwick Castle, and up close the speed and the skill and the dash is just awe-inspiring. I didn't witness any real mishaps but it dosen't do to try and imagine it with all that equipment. I'd love to see some more of this. Any suggestions, Inharness??

I suppose going cross country was what horses always were for, be it ridden or driven. It's just that there is less access to fabulous open land where you have to be prepared to deal with whatever you meet; ditch, stream, hedge etc. Great fun though when you can find it.

I am not an active xc rider right now as I have a 2 year old son who is more time consuming than you can imagine! But I used to love Team Chasing - form of xc. The thrill was unreal. Terrifying and electrifying and you needed a fab horse. I will find some photos and post them up here. The mare I have now is very capable once I can give her the time she needs.

Ok, I know we take wheels with us, but the x-country is the best bit about horse driving trials. We go to the most beautiful parks and estates - Sandringham, Catton, new Elveden - and see the forests and lavender fields and places the public doesn't get to see normally. This is Amanda Saville and her rescued ponies at the Windsor Park National Champs 2008 doing obstacles 1, 2 and 3. Well, it's cross-country! Where do you go?
