hi, have a look at feet first. thats a good book and looks at the whole approach to barefoot horses, also check out the uknhcp website thats the uk natural hoofcare practicioners, they use methods taught by pete ramey and jaime jackson, worth a look.

hi,LisaLisa, i know someone who rides in a bosal and horsehair reins.she loves it.Welcome to the group.

I ride just for pleasure, trail rides mostly and my paint mare is bitless and barefoot. I use what is called and Indian Bossal. Its very simle, just a nylon knotted loop that fits over the nose and criss-crosses under the chin. My mare is must more responsive. Prior I just use a snaffle.

Hi horse tails- I thought you may be interested to know that the USEF (the United Sates Equestrian Federation-I think!) is proposing a rule change to allow the use of crossunder bitless bridles in dressage comps in the USA.

hi flicka..i do hope B.D. do allow bitless, i ride my fella in a Dr Cooks and hes doing so well, Id love my young jocky to try dressage with him ( i havent the gut to compete at my age now ) Ive gotten a lot of stick off nasty local forum for my views and resaons for going bitles and would love to let them see him in his bitless lol Doing what they do bitted. (not that am against bits.) I just think if you can achieve bitless what you can bitted ..then why not go bitless..using the newer biltess disigned kinder bridles.

I read somewhere that British Dressage are thinking of allowing bitless bridles in competition-has anyone else heard about it?

Does any one use an E.P. for their bare foot horse.

At my stables only one horse has a bitless bridle and that is only because she has very bad teeth
