Training the natural way | 306 members |
| Monty Roberts, Parelli, Clinton Anderson, all have something in common they do things the 'natural way'. Whoever you follow, whatever you learn, share it here. We will discuss different techniques for different issues in training, from starting a horse to overcoming an obstacle. There is no such thing as a 'problem horse' only one that's misunderstood. With shared information we can help a lot of people and their horses. | ||

RS-tor new safety aid attaches to stirrup bars and has worked with Lancelot when he reared (to avoid a rabbit of all things!). Unlike a neckstrap, no need to reach for it - sits in hand like riding crop. www.rstor.co.uk http://www.rstor.co.uk/
Thanks for your comments. Plodalong.
I know that it is amazing what horses can do for people. It takes a special horse to sense what the rider needs. We work with some children under guardianship so are not able to post a lot of pics of them. But I will give it a try, sometime. It truly is a joy to watch the kids with the horses. http://www.horsesensedk.com

We always say...unwind your horses mind and behaviour. A happy horse means a happy rider. the more people that start looking after their horses in a more natural way, the better. http://www.equine-behaviour.co.uk
Interesting research on why it is important to let horses have at least an hour a day out of the stable - my only slight concern is why this had to be researched - isn't it obvious? http://tinyurl.com/da3hbp
Thanks for adding to this group...you've got a lot to contribute..also fascinating to hear about Hempfling from you. Impressive that he could be so civil after a long demanding day. His work with horses must go to the core of him...Have you seen the blog on this site of an interview with Monty Roberts. It's good but he looks so much older than I remember. Have added the link...let me know what you think. http://trotontv.blogspot.com/
Hi saddleup, would just like mention, not only is hempfling really great with horses, but happens to be an amazingly genuine and approachable person! I met him while working at one of his demonstrations, and he was happy to have a chat even though he had been buisy all day!
Will deffinately be looking more into Clinton Anderson too, he sounds like a good guy.
For those interested I've started a blog, with my own experiences of NH, and will be including tips of how it can benefit your horses, and also yourself in everyday life! Let me know what you think :D Thanx and happy horsing http://hoponahorse.com
I saw on the blog that Monty Roberts is doing a tour this Feb. So for a bit of cross referencing, I've put the website below. I'd love to go to one of the demos...anyone else out there thinking of going? http://www.intelligenthorsemanship.co.uk
